Certain fishing trips come with expectations. For the past 6 or so years, my friends and I embark on a journey to Southern Louisiana in search of Bull Redfish. My mother grew up in Southern LA so I have always been drawn to the area. In this video, my buddy Jose joined me on this quest for bull reds, we met up with my long time friend and fellow youtuber Jameson Redding, aka the@roadtripangler .

It’s a hard lesson we’ve learned. Never ever take a “script” to the outdoors… the conditions will laugh at you, sure. The fish will flip you off, always. Things that never go wrong, will go wrong. But more importantly, you’ll miss the spontaneous magic that makes it all worth it.

In episode 6, Ben and Ben journey out for bonefish... and then things go wrong.

So they pivot to beach side fishing for jacks... and still no dice. So they take their fly fishing talents to a back swamp lagoon, where the tarpon are cramped, angry... and hungry. All 7 eats in slow motion + multiple camera angles. Just. Plain. Fun.

Nick said it's one of the hardest areas to fish...We didn't take him seriously. And there we were, dragging a Jonboat through the Mexican jungle to a lagoon that had sat there in the middle of nowhere. It was like fishing met weight lifting the in the brutally hot Mexican sun. Each time we lifted, we wondered-- was it worth it? Thankfully, snook and tarpon were waiting for us. But every fish, every cast.. meant we had to earn it. Making this journey worth the fight.

For every win.. there's a loss. And in this story there's both. David, Kai, and Ben head back to the Holy Well and have a grand time pulling on the best lagoon tarpon that Nick Denbow can conjure up. There's jumps on jumps on jumps on jump. For the other crew-- Dan, Benny, and George things go... differently. In fact, we're pretty sure the world record fly rod toss in this film

In Episode 3 of our series, George and David take a tip from Nick to hike through the jungle of Mexico to fish a lagoon that hasn't been fished in a long long time. The catch? You need a boat to fish from. The double catch? The trail is super narrow. Only inflatable paddleboards will do. Thankfully there are 2 @BoteBoard s in the trunk of the car.
