From : Phelps on the Fly

To me, the ultimate experience in fly fishing is to discover unpressured fish in a new location. In the world of fly angling, a few overlooked destinations exist that aren’t necessarily on the map. This is a story about a location where my friends, Will and Eric, stumbled upon a flats fishery back in 2022. Their destination was a cluster of remote islands off the east coast of Nicaragua. Little did they know, it is a promised land for anglers in search of unpressured black-tailed devils lurking in the shallow water flats. A year later, we are now returning to see if this all holds true. “
